Email your MP to raise concerns about the sacking of the CMA chair

UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves has sacked the chair of the Competition and Markets Authority – and replaced him with the former head of Amazon UK.
The CMA is the UK regulator with the power to prevent companies from getting too big and abusing their power. Rachel Reeves’s decision to sack the chair and install an ex-Amazon man could make it harder to stop Big Tech companies from buying up any company that threatens their monopolies, and extending their stranglehold on new technologies like AI. It means those on the receiving end of Big Tech’s abuses have one less way to fight back.
Please email your MP to raise concerns. Tell them that allowing Big Tech’s size and power to grow unchecked is not a good economic strategy. It will benefit US-based companies, at the expense of UK users and the UK economy.
